Live TV is an television program broadcast live, in real time, on the subject matter at hand. It can also refer to online broadcasting, streaming television over the Internet while music or programming is being played. For instance, the recently launched Pluto TV application has two basic categories for watching: " LIVE TV" & " backlog." This is an application that is used on the Android mobile device to broadcast Live TV on-demand from selected websites.
The program stream can be accessed by simply connecting the television to a computer or smart TV with an internet connection. Since this is a bit of a novel technology and application, it is only available on smart TVs with internet connections. For instance, the Amazon Fire TV Stick has been released in Australia as the first application specifically for the Amazon Fire TV platform and is capable of streaming Live TV on the device as well as controlling playback, switching languages, and even giving user feedback. A similar application is already in beta testing on the Android mobile device and is expected to launch in the coming months.
For around US $20 per month, users will be able to access this feature which offers all the benefits of watching Live TV on the go without the need for a cable replacements, satellite subscriptions or extra equipment. To enjoy this service, they only need to have a laptop with Wi-Fi connection and a browser ready to catch the live channel streams on their PC screen. This option of having Live TV on the go is not only cost effective but is also convenient since the user does not need a satellite dish, cable replacements or other additional equipment. There is no need to buy DVDs or CDs as the Live TV library on their computer is accessible on their device via streaming videos.
